The weather outside is frightful and we're still here!

What have we been up to for the last 2 months? Well, let's see......had the girls portraits done (super cute), my parents came for 2 weeks over Christmas, Don arrived home right after the first of the year, I slipped on the ice and had a severe concussion.......and now here we are! WHEW!
We had a wonderful Christmas this year! My parents came to visit from Alabama and stayed for 2 weeks. It was great to see them and nice to have some help with the girls. Christmas morning was greeted with the usual chaos of 3 small children. Many gifts to open and play with. Okay, so about those Christmas cards. I DID write the annual Helfer letter, get the cards, and the pictures......HOWEVER I still haven't gotten around to mailing any. So now I'm WAY late and no one wants a Christmas card in January....so I think I'll go get some other cards and just send pics and the letter (since I did write it!). That way everyone will be happy. It's amazing to me how many folks actually look forward to my annual Christmas ramblings!! I actually got phone calls from people wanting to know what they did to NOT get a Christmas card this year. SORRY SORRY SORRY :( Okay enough groveling....I'm working on it :)
Don was not able to come home for Christmas this year, but he did arrive on Jan. 4th. He's home with us for the whole month of January, so that is wonderful. So poor Don was home for 1 whole day when Ms. Graceful....yep that's me!!........slipped on the ice in a friends driveway. Went backwards.....must have tried to brace my fall with my elbow (note to self: NOT advisable).....whacked the back of my head and succeeded in giving myself a level 3 concussion and a bruised elbow bone!! I remember NOTHING of the incident or anything for the next 4 hours. Of course in true Helfer fashion....I couldn't just give myself a light bump on the head....OH NO.....had to whack it good....lose consciousness and all! Needless to say that last 10 days have passed by in a very hazy blur! My wonderful husband (who luckily was with me to scrape me up off the ice) had to step in without much instruction and take over ALL duties. Let me tell ya ladies....nothing like a good whack to the head to make your husbands really appreciate all that we do!! He handled everything wonderfully, even getting the girls to school somewhat on time each morning! He is THRILLED that his "type A" wife is getting her groove back finally!
Anyway, that's the latest for us. Always an adventure in this house! We love you all and I promise to get pics and letters send out as soon as humanly possible!! :)

God Bless!!
