The girls and I had a great time celebrating the 4th of July. We started the day off with a parade up in Montague, MI. We were supposed to meet a friend of ours, but her little one was sick so it was just me and my turkeys. The parade was entertaining, although the number of political candidates out stumping for votes was ridiculous. My seven year old asked me why all the boring people (politicians) were walking in the parade and shaking hands! She wanted firetrucks, floats and candy!

A few times a year I buy matching shirts for the girls.....easier to keep track of them at large functions. This year their shirts said "Girls Sparkle". We had many people stop and comment on their shirts, which of course the girls were thrilled with.
After the parade we came home to rest and then headed over to a friends house for BBQ. The girls got to stay up late and we braved the crowd to go see the fireworks. It's the first time we've really done that with the girls because of the late start, but they had a great time!
Hope you all also had a safe and happy 4th of July. We miss you all!!

Wow! They are getting so big and so beautiful! I love the hats!
Was everyone else carrying so many flags to celebrate the importance of the day and our country?
Keep it up! The pictures are great! Nana
